Today’s Encouragement is 2 Corinthians 1:4 NLT He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
In all our troubles –
Seems like there ought to be an easier way… but that’s just me… God is saying that we suffer trouble in this life, and He comforts us… in all our troubles. Jesus told us in John 16:33 “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world.” Many trials and sorrows, troubles, pain, suffering…we think, “Why Lord! Shouldn’t we be sheltered from all this and not have to experience such pain in this life, we’re Your own chosen, adopted children! We should get a pass!”
God is too wise to shelter us from the pain and suffering of this life, He didn’t shelter Jesus! Instead, He shelters us through the pain and suffering, “He comforts us IN all our troubles”! IN the trouble. And He does this with a purpose! SO THAT… we can comfort others with the comfort He has given to us! If we don’t suffer troubles, we wouldn’t be able to comfort others.
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. Isaiah 55:8. He knows what He is doing! We just need to accept His ways, His plan… and seek Him in our troubles, and not blame Him for them. And as we do… we will clearly find, His Comfort!
Father thank you for Your wisdom, and for Your Comfort!
