Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 91:1-2 “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. [2] I will say to the LORD, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’”
Dwell in the shelter –
This is my very favorite psalm. It is filled with His Blessings, Protection, Love, Mercy, Kindness, Compassion, Security, Rest, Comfort and so much more.
And all these promises and blessings are ours when we dwell in His shelter. Dwelling in Him is our choice, my friends. We can ‘dwell on’ or ‘dwell in’ anything else, we have lots of options. Bills to be paid, our health, our weight, what to eat, what to wear, how to please another person, how to avoid another person, how to raise the kids, how to deal with this or that, the national debt, world politics, you name it – we have lots of options…
And my friends, dwelling on, or in, anything other than The Shelter of The Most High, yields nothing! Only in God’s Shelter, His presence, His Truth, His Peace, Grace, and Love… only here do we find His promises fulfilled, our protection, peace, and blessings far beyond all this world has to offer. To dwell in His shelter, to abide in His shadow, we must be near to Him. Like standing under His umbrella of protection, we have to be NEAR to Him!
Father, help us choose to ‘Dwell in Your shelter’, today and always; to stay near to You. You are always true to Your promises. We trust in You.
