Today’s Encouragement is Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
The Same –
Many of us would like to have a closer relationship with God. We know we would be better off. We believe that a strong prayer life can and would help us be better people and be better Christians. But we just get busy, too busy for our own good. Or we get discouraged, we’ve waited so long, prayed so many times, years even.
But consider this, He is always The Same! He isn’t frustrated by what we did or didn’t do yesterday; not disappointed in our current performance or lack thereof… He just IS!
Remember (Ex 3:14) God said, ‘I AM’? There’s no need to say more. “I am” what? we might ask… well, He responds, “I AM the same yesterday today and forever… I AM the Lord who heals you! I AM the beginning and the end. I AM the way, the truth and the life.” He IS!
So, no matter how long, in our perspective, it’s been since you spoke with God through prayer… Jesus is the same… He is – unperturbed, patient, kind, loving, all-knowing, all-gracious, and all-forgiving. And no matter how long you have asked Him for your heart’s desire, your prayer request of so very many years… He hears!
He’s not holding out on you; He’s not waiting for you to ‘get right’ so He can bless you… He knows what we need before we ask Him… He is I am, the same yesterday, today and forever. And He wants a relationship with you.
Lord, please encourage the strong, strengthen the weak, comfort the lonely, and grant Your peace to all in need. In the name of Jesus, the Name above all Names… we ask.
