Accept good and not trouble?

Today’s Encouragement is Job 2:9–10 “His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!” He [Job] replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.”

Accept good and not trouble –

Job lost everything, his possessions, his children, his wealth, even his own health.  His wife told him to just give up, “Curse God and die!”.  (What a joy she was!) But Job held strong.  He recognized that God gives, and God takes away; that life involves both joy and pain, peace and also suffering.  So, in the inevitable times of pain… when suffering seems so overwhelming… put all your Hope in God…

Friends, we may never understand why… but we can be assured that He does.  We don’t have to know everything… because He does… It’s almost supremely arrogant to demand that we understand everything… folks, that is God’s business… Let Him handle it.  We just trust Him… HOPE in Him…

Lord God, please grant us such faith, that we might trust You enough to accept both good and trouble. And when trouble does come, as it does to all, help us to continually look to You.  You are our Hope. You are the Only Hope. And You are Always Faithful!

Our Hope Endures
