Today’s Encouragement is Philippians 4:6-7 NLT Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. [7] Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Thank Him for all He has done-
A thankful, grateful prayer is so much more powerful than a doubtful, uncertain prayer. God doesn’t reject our prayers… ever, He hears and understands and responds, always. He can do this because He is God, we cannot understand how He could… because we are not God!
And because we are not God, it is helpful for our own spirits, hearts, and minds to pray from an attitude, from a position of, thankful, grateful Trust. That is, as we pray, we can say, Father Thank You for listening to me, Thank You for the privilege of coming to you with this need, thank You for all You have done and that you are going to… (whatever is on your heart at the time to pray about).
When we pray with thankful, grateful hearts, we are expressing Faith that God will hear, will act, will Himself take on the burden and cares we have – so that we don’t continue to carry them. 1 Peter 5:7 “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”
Father we thank You that you care about us, help us to bring all our cares and worries to You, and to Trust You, to leave our burdens with You, and to live in sincere gratitude and thankfulness for Who You Are, and all you’ve done for us! We pray in Jesus’ Name.
