Tell God what you need

Today’s Encouragement is Philippians 4:6-7 NLT Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. [7] Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Tell God what you need –

What?  Does God need me to tell Him what I need? Well, no, He doesn’t… but we do! We have a need to express our desires, our needs to God. When we do, we begin to hear ourselves asking Him, we pause and say “Is this wise, is this a good tilting to ask Him for, am I being petty or selfish, am I praying for blessings for myself and others or for harm?”

We have just been invited to pray about everything, now we are invited to pour out our needs, not a Christmas-wish-list of selfish wants, but our needs.

As you do, consider Jesus’ fervent, agonizing prayer in the Garden the very night he would be arrested, He prayed, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” (Luke 22:42)

The perfect ending statement to every prayer. “Your will be done!” Yet, we are still free to pour out our every need to Our Loving Father! So freely ask, and then surrender your request to Gods Perfect Will, His will that brings all things around for our Good! (Romans 8:28)

Father Thank You for the privilege of bringing our every need to You. Thank You for the comforting truth that Your will is always for our good! We are amazed at Your Love and Kindness for us. Help us to take our needs to You in prayer.
