Don’t worry about anything

Today’s Encouragement is Philippians 4:6-7 NLT Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. [7] Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Don’t worry about anything! –

This idea isn’t new! We tend to think that we have a much harder life than folks who came before us, that we carry the weight of the world with today’s stresses and bad news and the constant noise of life, input from TV, social media, and the seemingly always negative news… There’s so much ‘good material to feed our worry!’ But 2000 years ago, Jesus gave us the solution to a life of worry!

As He always does, Jesus calls us away from the cares of this world, to focus on the Real World of the Kingdom of Heaven… the Spiritual Truths of the Spiritual, Everlasting, World which we have inherited as His people.

He calls us away, from fears, anxieties, worries… into Faith, Hope and Trust in Him… totally contrary to the ways of this earth… and we can only walk in His ways as we focus on Him, turn our eyes and hearts to Him. We can do this amid the clamor of this life, at any time… by turning to Him!

Matthew 6:31-33 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

My friends, we choose to worry, or not to worry. The only successful plan of ‘not worrying’ is Trust. Turn to Jesus in Trust! Choose to Trust Him, Seek His Kingdom, and leave worry to those who choose not to trust Him!
