The measure of faith

Today’s Encouragement is Romans 12:3 ESV For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

The measure of faith-

God has given differing measures, degrees, or depths of faith to each believer. We now have the privilege and choice to grow our Faith to exercise what Faith we have.

This ‘differing measures’ thought is supported by the following verses. Jesus explained that some may have a tiny faith, like a ‘mustard seed’ measure (Matt 17:20). Some have ‘little faith’ (Matt 6:30); some have ‘great’ faith, like the centurion (Matt 8:10 NIV). So, it’s clear that there are different measures of Faith!

And we have to opportunity and privilege to nurture that faith to become its greatest fullness! Jude 1:20 “But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit…”  Build yourselves up in faith!

Friends, we grow in faith by prayer and by living in, exercising, ‘practicing’ the measure of Faith we do have… as we live in Faith, Trusting Him, then our Faith grows, strengthens, and matures.

Father, increase our faith, help us to become the godly men and women you have designed us to be, that you desire us to be! And may Faith become the primary characteristic of our lives. We pray in Jesus’ Name.
