Given this hope

Today’s Encouragement is Romans 8:24 NLT We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it.)

Given this hope –

Hope is often recognized as an essential element of human life. It is tragically clear that a person who becomes Hope-less is not functioning well at all and may not live very long in that state of mind.

Hope is a unique and essential component of our faith also, and as today’s verse explains… “we were given (already!) this hope”. It is a gift from God, “when we were saved.”

Our God-given type of Hope may not be rational or logical according to the world’s standards, but it is not those standards which determine our lives as believers! We are set apart as His deeply loved children, to have Hope!

As Paul begins to conclude his letter to the Romans, he sums up in 15:13 “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”

The source of Hope is our God! As we continually, consciously choose to trust in Him – we overflow with confident hope!

Father thank You for the Hope You have already given us, and please strengthen our hope to become overflowing, confident Hope.
