Today’s Encouragement is Romans 4:18 NLT Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping-believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!”
No reason for hope-
God’s promise to Abraham was that he would become the father of many nations; that even in his advanced years he and Sarah would have a child. It wasn’t logical, it wasn’t even biologically possible, yet Abraham believed God. He did not weaken in faith (v19). It was Abraham’s faith which was considered as right-standing before God; made him right with God. And it is our faith in Christ which gives us this same right-standing (v 24).
Friends, our Faith is totally inconsistent with the logic and wisdom of this world. The wisdom of man does not line up with the wisdom of God. Man’s greatest intelligence, accomplishments, achievements, abilities, capabilities, philosophies… is foolishness before God!
Just Faith my friends; Hope when there is no tangible reason for Hope.
Father, help us to continue to place all our Hope, our Faith, and our Confidence in You alone! You are God, we are the people of your pasture, the flock under Your perfect and loving care…. We trust in You alone!
