Today’s Encouragement is Hebrews 8:13 “In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.”
New Covenant –
Hebrews 8:6-7 “But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises. [7] For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second.”
The old covenant, has grown old and vanished. We live under and within the New Covenant.
Jeremiah 31:31 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah.”
And just what is the New Covenant?
Jesus Himself told us – in Luke 22:20 ESV And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.
This New covenant has replaced the old covenant of: obeying all the law, priests as intermediaries, and animal sacrifices for redemption…
With the new covenant of: Christ our Lord as high priest, our intermediary, and His Shed blood, the supreme sacrifice once for all sin, for all time, for all who believe and trust Him as Savior. The New Covenant is this: we are one with Him through His blood. We are the Righteousness of God, through Christ! (2 Cor 5:21)
