Today’s Encouragement is Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. [9] Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
By His Grace-
God saved you. We say things like, ‘When I decided to come to Christ’, or ‘When I accepted Jesus’, as if it was something we did, our own efforts. Truth is my friends… God chose us and gave us this Gift of Salvation. Not our efforts, not even… bear with me… not even our decision.
Consider with me, who are your parents? … it wasn’t your decision to be born to them, where were you born, what nation? Again, not your call. How tall are you? Not your call. Hair color? You get the idea. Some things in this life are our decisions, but many things are not… and thankfully, we can change some things too, by our decisions.
But salvation… this is God’s work. He saved us! “God saved you by his grace”… when you believed… we do have that role to play! We either believe or we don’t. If you’ve ever known anyone very well who chose NOT to believe… you can see for yourselves the tragic results of that decision.
My friends, God’s Grace has saved us, rescued us from ourselves, from this world, from a life controlled by and known by our sin…. He alone calls, invites, prepares, encourages, motivates, guides us… to Himself.
Father You are so good to us, so patient, so kind and so full of Love for us. Thank You for this immeasurable gift of Salvation, by Your Grace.
