The windows of heaven

Today’s Encouragement is Malachi 3:10 NLT Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!

The windows of Heaven-

‘The tithe’ is as old as mankind. Even the sons of Adam and Eve, though known for other reasons, brought a tithe to God, an offering of their efforts, some of the ‘fruits of their labor’ we call it. Without any commandment, all through history, people recognized that God is the giver of every good and perfect gift (James 1:17) and so, some tangible acknowledgment of God’s goodness is only appropriate.

This tangible acknowledgment we call Tithe, and it is defined as one-tenth of all the blessings we are granted by God. This tithe is returned to Him as an acknowledgment that everything we have has come from Him.

God’s math is not the world’s math my friends; Everything I have, less one-tenth, is NOT only 90 percent, no, in God’s math… its far more than I can calculate! Because God promises us in this verse, when we honor Him with a tithe, He ‘will open the windows of heaven for you!’  Imagine that…

We are even assured with the closing words, Just try it!

This isn’t a winning slot machine; put in my tithe today and win the jackpot tomorrow. Rather by consistently, sacrificially, worshipfully giving the tithe to Him, God opens the windows of heaven to us and pours out blessings… perhaps financially, but is it not possible that these windows might also pour out blessings which matter so much more… blessings such as good health, peace, joy, and contentment?

“Try it! Put God to the test!”
