Today’s Encouragement is Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. [9] For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Your thoughts –
A friend posted a scripture on social media. Which prompted discussion, which prompted arguments,
One poster described how you can’t take the Bible literally, it all must be viewed as allegory, parables, and story. This fella in his ‘deep wisdom’ even claimed that John the Baptist was the first Buddhist. Interesting… but I digress.
In our logical minds we evaluate information as believable or unbelievable, based on our own knowledge, and our own determination of what is logical or illogical. Our mind, our logic becomes the ultimate judge, the final evaluator of truth vs fiction.
This would be a great plan, if we all used the same facts and the same logical processes to determine the truth. One very wise and logical person determines that truth A is the absolute truth, another equally wise and logical mind determines that plan R is the absolute truth.
All of man’s wisdom, and our most brilliant logic, our unanswerable questions, all are quickly exposed as child-like ramblings… when we consider the words of Biblical wisdom. Such as Today’s verse.
God is above all, His thinking, His logic, His power, what is easily possible for Him is quite impossible for man…
We either accept this or reject it. And if accepted, may I suggest that we let Him set the boundaries for truth vs lies, right vs wrong? I’m pretty sure He is more trustworthy than wisest person I’ve ever met or heard of or read about!
