Today’s Encouragement is Leviticus 18:4-5 NLT You must obey all my regulations and be careful to obey my decrees, for I am the LORD your God. [5] If you obey my decrees and my regulations, you will find life through them. I am the LORD.
You will find life –
Young or new believers aren’t taught obedience. Rather, it’s almost ‘anything goes, and you’re forgiven’! Older believers (I didn’t say mature) also don’t understand the personal responsibility for choosing to live in God’s way, we just haven’t been taught.
My Friends – Yes and Amen, it is Faith in Christ which saves us! We accept and believe… AND THEN – we can begin to grow closer to Him – Through Obedience! Or we choose to remain stagnant, doing nothing proactively to grow in faith, and this ultimately results in our hearts becoming cold, and sliding, falling away, from Him.
As we begin to grasp how wide, how high, is His Love, we learn to see His commandments as the Truth taught by a loving Father. We learn to obey these truths and find life, to remain within His favor, which is further extended by His Grace! We then are included within His kingdom as willing, intentional, and obedient children. This is the status of those who choose to be His and intentionally live with obedience in mind. Not perfectly but intentionally.
It seems such believers are rare… many are called but few are chosen.
And knowing each of these true believers, is a distinct blessing. These are those who FIND LIFE!
We’re not talking about classes of believers, but there are certainly, clearly, different levels of maturity among those in the body of Christ. And each has its function.
You alone Lord, give Life. Help us find Life in You, in living according to the Truth which You have so graciously provided for us!
