Today’s Encouragement is 2 Corinthians 5:21 ESV For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
We might become-
Among the many mysteries of God’s plans, purposes, and provisions for His children… and as a loving Father cares for the needs of His own, even before it is known, so has our Father prepared for us, before we know what we need…
Even so, God has prepared, set in place, arranged, and designed that we, all who believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior… are the Righteousness of God!
Before, we were sin, covered in it, living in a pit of it, wallowing in it, unable to escape in any way. It was us! And Jesus only, was the righteousness of God! He was pure and completely Right with God; as His Beloved Son, Who pleased the Father so much! Then this perfect and obedient, Son… took our place… in Divine Exchange He changed places with us, becoming our Sin (‘made Him to be sin’). He did this not merely to cleanse us, but also my friend, He then gave us – His Righteousness!!! His perfect, right-standing relationship with the Father!
In the beautiful parable of the prodigal son, upon his repentant arrival at his father’s house, he was clothed with ‘the best robe’ (Luke 15:22) from his father. The robe of righteousness. And we are also (Gal 3:27) clothed with Christ.
My friends, through faith, by God’s decree, by this ultimate act of Grace – We are the Righteousness of God!
Father help us to clearly see this amazing exchange of our sin for Christ’s Righteousness. The words, ‘Thank You’ are completely inadequate, for we are amazed and humbled at Your Grace!
