So I went

Today’s Encouragement is John 9:11 NLT He told them, “The man they call Jesus made mud and spread it over my eyes and told me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash yourself.’ So I went and washed, and now I can see!”

So I went-

This blind man obeyed Jesus.  Jesus told him to go to the pool and wash… so he did!  He obeyed, and his eyes, blind from birth, now saw!

Our relationship with God is most often a two-way transaction.  He speaks, suggests, or commands… and then we choose to obey or not.

I confess I’ve never liked the word or the idea of obedience.   Something (not Him!) within me recoils at it, says ‘No way! I’m master of my own destiny! I decide how I live, what I will or won’t do!  Nobody is gonna tell me what to do!!!

On the other hand, I’ve also learned, through many years of hard knocks, that I sometimes don’t make very good decisions, that my bullheadedness, my – “I’m my own man attitude” is often at its strongest right before a magnificent fail!

Friends we have a loving Father.  He has given us the gift of wisdom in His book, a treasure trove of truth.  We are free to ignore it- to our great harm, or to immerse ourselves within it- to our great blessing.  And each time we fail to use His wisdom, He has provided Grace, sufficient for our every need.

Will you determine, along with me, again today, to live according to God’s wisdom, His ways, His Truth? To simply choose… to Obey?

Father thank You for the wisdom You have so kindly provided for us, and the Grace which removes and completely erases all our failures! Help us to Obey!  Help us to simply do what You say to do! We ask in Jesus’ Name.

Obey
