Today’s Encouragement is Philippians 4:8 NLT And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Fix your thoughts-
Modern psychology acknowledges that our positive or negative thinking has great power over our outlook, our performance, and our direction in life. Ancient philosophers acknowledge this… as do many others. And we as Christians are advised repeatedly that we need to Believe, to Trust, to focus our minds and hearts on what is true and right and pure, which is Our Lord Jesus.
What we are exposed to in life usually determines what we think about doesn’t it? That TV show, that Youtube video, that Facebook post… what our ‘friends’ have said about us, what our parents said about us… this World has every opinion, comment, suggestion, condemnation and praise possible about you and I, and every other subject under the sun! Yet, only One opinion matters, and it’s not yours or mine. It’s not Facebook, nor your BFF, nor your spouse… Only God’s Truth matters.
As we strive (it is work!) to think about, to fix our thoughts on things that are worthy, things that are excellent and worthy of praise… this world clamors for our thoughts! Because our thoughts control our behavior. God’s best for us is that we focus on His Truth, His Power, His blessings, His perspective of Life, of Time, and of everything. By fixing our minds on Him, we rise above the din of this world, the clamoring for attention of this ‘look-at-me-selfie’ world!
Lord help us to choose to Fix our Eyes on You Lord, on Your World, on Your Plan, on Your Character, Your Love, Your Mercy! Only You are worthy of our praise, or our attention!
I Fix my Eyes on You

This is one of my favorite scriptures- it is such a good filter for our thoughts. I heard someone say once “don’t believe everything you think” and by filtering the negative through the lens of “is it right, true, noble, praiseworthy…” has been so helpful to me. Thanks for continuing to share your heart! Happy 2022 to you and Janet!❤️
