Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 23:6 NLT Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.
Live in the house of the Lord-
I’ve often had this thought when we are caring for people who are struggling so deeply. “We can help you. You who struggle with accepting God’s Grace and Love. You who struggle with addiction, anxiety, fear, insanity. Come into our home for a while and experience God’s Love here in action. No one is able to resist God’s Love. By coming to live here, you leave your environment with its problems, triggers, and negative relationships, and while that old environment will not change, you can, and you will be changed… you will become a new creation in Christ. (2 Cor 5:17)”
I know there are many problems with this idea… but my friend, Is it possible that –
This is exactly God’s thought for His children… His invitation, that we would come to live in His house… come to dwell, to abide, to remain, to live with Him and so become transformed into His family, his children, His likeness. Not someday by and by, but now, in spirit and in truth, you and me, dwelling with Him!
As humans we have to acknowledge that can’t transform others, as much as we might want to.
But He is able! He can and does Transform! We can come to live in His house, dwell with Him, become a part of God’s family, become reborn into a new life as His children… rebirthed from our previous life into a new nurturing, loving, relationship with our Perfect Father. And He now prepares us for the rest of our new life, now living within His family.
Help us to dwell in Your house Lord, in spirit and in truth.
