Today’s Encouragement is Matthew 6:11-12a “Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins…”

Today-

Just as we need food, both physical and spiritual nourishment each day, in the same way, we need God’s forgiveness each day.

As forgiven believers in Christ, the truth is that we still sin.  It doesn’t make us lost, we still are His children, but it does make us need to return to Him daily, to recognize our need, and to ask for His grace. 

This passage is from what we call the Lord’s Prayer, which is Jesus’ direct response to the request from His disciples, “Lord, teach us how to pray.”  Jesus is saying, just as you need food every day, (recognize that God gives you the blessing of even your daily food…) you also need God’s grace and forgiveness every day. 

Lamentations 3:22-23 “The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” Every morning!

And daily, as we acknowledge our food is a gift from Him, we can recognize that our forgiveness, His Grace and Love, is also a gift from Him… daily!

Thank You Lord for your Amazing, Daily, All-Sufficient Grace.  Thank You for forgiveness.  Thank You for loving us.
