Today’s Encouragement is Luke 11:34 NLT “Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when it is unhealthy, your body is filled with darkness.
Filled with light –
These are the words of Jesus regarding the light or darkness of our body. The entire body is enlightened or darkened by our eyes. This is what we are bringing into our body, into our hearts and minds… it is either the Light which then spreads throughout all our being, our physical, emotional, and spiritual being, or it is the darkness.
We use the phrase ‘I see’ to describe an understanding, comprehension of a thought or matter. Now, when we bring a particular thought, from what we can see with our eyes or what we ‘see’ through our understanding, we are bringing that thought, whether it be Light or dark, into our full being, physical, emotional, and spiritual.
What we see, expose our eyes, minds, and hearts to, what we think, what we dwell on… all this affects our entire lives. We fill our lives with – either the Light of Hope, Love and Grace of God… or any of millions of other options, all of which are darkness.
Lord help us to keep our lives full of Your Light, Your Truth, Your Grace, and Your Love… and so, to keep the darkness out. Thank You for allowing us the blessing of being filled with the Light of Christ!
