Today’s Encouragement is Romans 5:8 “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
While we were still –
We were still sinners, and still are! Yet we are saved! The gift of God in Jesus Christ has cleansed us from all sin, our past, present, and future! He did this, and He does everything perfectly.
We’ve been set free from the power of sin by Christ’s death. We can choose to intentionally remain in our sin, living however we want, and claiming we’ve been already forgiven… and yet, this leads to death! Or we can choose to intentionally reject sin, realizing that because Christ died to free us, we are not a slave to sin any longer!
Friends do not accept condemnation or the lie that every time you sin, you have to ‘do something’ to be forgiven. Our freedom and forgiveness can only be found in God’s love expressed through Christ, He has done it, and it is finished!
Father help us live in the grace and freedom which Christ, and He alone, has provided for us. Help us walk in Your Light, free and clear!
