Today’s Encouragement is Romans 15:30 ESV I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf,
Strive together with me –
If someone asked you, “What is your most heartfelt, most important, greatest prayer request?” How would you respond? Would you know immediately, or respond, “let me think about that.”
I’ve come to believe that we all normally flip-flop from day to day or minute by minute… in our prayers.
Imagine the scene, God is listening to us asking for: a good parking spot, help me find my car keys, give me courage to ask my boss for a raise, cause my boss to give me a raise, let the car dealer accept my offer on that car, help my sister get well, save my children, heal grandad…our list can be endless.
Now there is absolutely nothing wrong with prayer! Anytime, anywhere, or any kind! Don’t think I’m against prayer for any need! God isn’t too busy to hear even your smallest need.
What I hope you will see is that we too often don’t pray about anything consistently. We aren’t persevering, wrestling, striving together, in prayer…. Instead, we are all, all too often, ‘all over the place!’
So, will you ask yourself – what is most important? What lingers on your own prayer list? Would you define that? and then share it with another person who believes in prayer also?
On my knees
