Today’s Encouragement is 1 John 4:18 ESV There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
No fear –
Since ‘there is no fear in love’ – we must acknowledge that, if we are fearful, in any way anxious, uncertain, worried, panicked, then we – cannot be living in Love. God’s Love, as it is described so clearly in this chapter, when ‘perfected’ in a believer’s life, eliminates fear. My friends, it is impossible, when God’s Love has filled our hearts, for there to be any space for any trace of fear to remain.
God’s Love is overwhelming, it fills every space to overflowing. No other emotion, perspective, consideration, nor alternative can withstand the overarching flood of His Love. Everything else pales in the radiant Light of This Love of God.
My friend, if worry, fear, doubts well up in our hearts and minds… this is a clear indication that we are not focused on God’s Perfect Love. When our eyes, hearts and minds focus upon His Perfect, Immeasurable Love, we recognize there is absolutely nothing that we need to fear, be anxious or worry about.
Father, please help us to be so covered, flooded and filled with the Truth of Your Perfect Love, that no other thought, emotion, or need can exist in our heart, mind, or spirit. We ask in Jesus’ Name.
