Today’s Encouragement is 1 Peter 5:6-7 NLT So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. [7] Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
He cares about you-
We can choose to humble ourselves before God as we consider His awesome power, and our powerlessness… In doing so, our human pride, which so often brings us to defiance of God, is put into a proper perspective. We are nothing compared to Him, “all flesh is like the grass”. Yet He gives us worth! ‘At the right time, He will lift you up’- not maybe but He Will, in His time…
And because we recognize His sovereignty, we can give all our worries and cares to Him… because my friend, He cares about us. He isn’t concerned about us the way a well-intentioned friend is concerned, calling, or texting a few times each day to check up on us with, “How are you doing?” (Which is often a good idea for us!) No, my friends, instead, God has already provided us with a helper, a companion, a comforter – His Holy Spirit- as Jesus stated, ‘who will be with you forever.’ (John 14:16) He is not a fair-weather friend!
Father God help us, your children, to trust You so deeply that we can toss all our worries, cares, fears, and anxieties to You, and then help us to peacefully rest in Your protection and provision.
