Today’s Encouragement is 2 Chronicles 34:31 “And the king stood in his place and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book.”
Made a covenant –
Josiah was a great and godly king of Judah. He was eight years old when he began ruling and at age 16 (v 3) he began to seek God. Years later when he was about 24, he first heard the words of the book of the Law and he repented and made a public covenant, a commitment to ‘walk after the Lord and keep His commandments.’
This good man, who did his best to serve God, made a covenant; he rededicated himself to God before all the people and invited all the people to join him in this rededication.
Is it time for you? Do you need a new start in your life, in your faith-life? He is always available, always ready to start a new work in the lives of His children.
We choose.
Lord, help us today, regardless of our circumstances, to choose again to follow You, with all our heart and soul. We choose a deepening, growing relationship with You Lord. We surrender to You.
I surrender
