Today’s Encouragement is 2 Corinthians 5:16 “So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.”
We regard no one –
Once, as Christ walked the earth, his disciples regarded him as a great man, a leader, a prophet… they didn’t fully recognize at that time, early in His ministry, that He was the Messiah. Some thought He might be, but generally they regarded Him as a great man. They looked at Him from a worldly perspective… until Peter’s proclamation, “You are the Messiah” Matt 16:16.
Friends, just as Jesus was no longer regarded from the world’s perspective… so you and I are no longer regarded from the perspective of this world.
We are humans, yes, but also new creations (v17) eternal beings, filled with the Light of God’s Love, mercy and grace. No longer enslaved to this world and its passions, but freed to serve God, to Honor Him, to worship Him and even… to represent Him on this earth as His ambassadors (v 20).
This is true for you and me… and all who believe. Therefore…. Regard no one according to the flesh, from the perspective of this life… rather we now can see our brothers and sisters, as well as ourselves, as new creations in Christ! Free from the old worldly point of view!
Father open our eyes please to the presence of Christ in ourselves, and in our brothers and sisters in Christ. Help us to regard both ourselves and them as Yours.
